Just because you're a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers 53-man roster doesn't mean you'll be playing on gameday, even if healthy.

That's because the NFL limits teams to 46 active players on game day.

So with the context clear, here are the inactive players for today's matchup:

Steelers Inactive players:

  • QB Mitch Trubisky (3rd QB)
  • OLB T.J. Watt
  • CB Darius Rush
  • OT Dylan Cook
  • ILB Blake Martinez
  • DL DeMarvin Leal
  • S Elijah Riley

Bills Inactive players:

  • WR Gabe Davis
  • S Taylor Rapp
  • CB Rasul Douglas
  • LB Tyrel Dodson
  • T Alec Anderson
  • DE Kingsley Jonathan
  • DT Poona Ford

Observations:

With Bills WR Gabe Davis officially listed as inactive, that puts extra pressure on the other playmakers in Buffalo and especially on QB Josh Allen to take of care of the ball yet put the Bills in the endzone.

Allen is one of the best in the league at doing the latter, but perhaps no QB is more likely to give the defense a turnover than Allen.

Without one of his more reliable targets given recent postseason memory, Pittsburgh has to focus on heating up Allen and rushing him into bad decisions that the Steelers' defense can cash in on.
