Just when it seemed like the Pittsburgh Steelers were going to have the advantage of bad winter weather on Sunday, the NFL and state of New York have stepped in and put an end to the controversy:
Pittsburgh will now have an extra day to prepare for the upset, but their physical advantage may have just gone out of the window:
Not Very Safe
With Blizzard conditions that include 50+ mph sustained winds, the potential for over a foot of snow, and limited to no visibility, the governor of New York and the NFL have gotten together and decided to postpone Steelers-Bills to Monday afternoon.
Monday is MLK day, so hopefully the game will still draw a decent audience, especially considering it's toward the end of the day.
But for Pittsburgh, they wanted a winter wonderland.
The Bills' lead back, James Cook has just 154 yards and is averaging a mere 3.1 yards per carry over his last three games, with the offense sputtering on the ground.
Compare that to a red-hot Steelers rushing attack that has two backs in Najee Harris and Jaylen Warren over 1000 yards from scrimmage and you can see how the conditions favored the Steelers, with Monday's forecast swaying things back in the Bills' favor:
Either way, Pittsburgh was and is going to need to play their best game of the season to upset the hottest team in the NFL.
But the wildcard that was winter weather is no longer a card Pittsburgh can play.
