Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets are no more.

The future first-ballot Hall of Famer is going to search for a new home in 2025, and a lot of steam has been building as it pertains to him and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

But according to former Cincinnati Bengals WR and current NightCap co-host Chad Ochocinco Johnson, Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers might as well be oil and water…

Chad Johnson doesn't think Aaron Rodgers will work in Pittsburgh

"What's not going to happen, is you're [Aaron Rodgers] not going to come in with the attitude that you have, in that organization with Mike Tomlin," Johnson said on NightCap. "That ain't happening. Saying you're not coming to mini-camp, not coming to training camp. Whatever it might be. Taking retreats and doing all that, saying some of the stuff you say through the media…

"…The Steelers, you can take that out the equation…It's not happening,"

It's worth at least pondering if Pittsburgh would be interested in bringing in Rodgers, especially if Russell Wilson is in fact on his way out. He may not be the player who broke the hearts of Steelers fans in the Super Bowl nearly a decade and a half ago, but maybe he has a chance to win over some fanatics if he puts on the Black and Gold in 2025.

Pittsburgh has an obvious need at the QB position and we know Mike Tomlin has an infatuation with veteran QBs that boast a championship pedigree. Not to mention, he and Aaron Rodgers have had their fair share of friendly banter.

"We've been in stadiums with him," coach Tomlin said prior to the Steelers mathiup with the New York Jets in 2024. "It's no different than your playing guys you know, like Matt Stafford or some guys within our division, Lamar [Jackson] and Joe Burrow. There's too much water underneath that bridge. Familiarity, not only with what he's doing, but with what's going on around him, that allows him to make some of the no look, throws and things that that we all have appreciated over the years."

If you really break down the Steelers choices, there is an argument that Rodgers is the best option. Is Russell Wilson, Justin Fields, Sam Darnold or a rookie going to be that much better in 2025?

That much is to be determined.
