The Cincinnati Bengals are hoping to rebound on Sunday afternoon in a home game against the Baltimore Ravens.
Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow, who had a game to forget in Cincy's season-opening loss to the Cleveland Browns, knows that Sunday's game against Baltimore is extremely important.
"We're trying to go 1-0 every single week," said Burrow on Wednesday while meeting with reporters. "Especially another division game — we gotta get one on the board this week. We're going to work hard to make that happen."
One of Burrow's former LSU teammates, Ravens linebacker Patrick Queen, will be looking to prevent Cincinnati from getting that important division win.
And Queen, who was part of LSU's 2019 national championship team with Burrow and Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase, has plenty of motivation to win on Sunday.
That motivation stems from the Ravens' playoff loss to the Bengals last season.
"I think the whole time during the offseason you think about it," said Queen on Wednesday when asked about the playoff loss to Cincy. "How you got sent home early and those guys got to continue their season and got to the AFC Championship game. It definitely motivates you…we're just going to go out here and try to be 1-0 this week".
Queen, who noted that the game will "come down to playmakers making plays" because Cincinnati and Baltimore know each other so well, was asked by a reporter if he's talked with Burrow or Chase leading up to the game.
The former LSU standout acknowledged that he spoke to Burrow before the start of the season, but that's the last time the two former teammates have talked with each other.
"I called Joe maybe two weeks ago, just to talk and see how he was feeling and check up on him," said Queen. "During the season, nobody really talks to nobody. It's just straight football. You're trying to focus on your job. And everybody's got their own thing going on."
It sounds like Queen, Burrow, and Chase won't be doing too much reminiscing on Sunday. Instead, it'll be all business.
By the way, Burrow and Queen have an interesting history together. The two have obviously become somewhat close, but it took a wild practice fight between the two players to get to that point.
(Check out the video below for the story from Queen, it's an all-time great one.)
