Under two weeks ago, Brandon Aiyuk stoked the flames around speculation about a potential trade from the San Francisco 49ers with a social media post.

The All-Pro wide receiver claimed in a video posted on TikTok that the 49ers said they did not want him back during negotiations over a contract extension that have to this point have not yielded any fruit.

But on Friday, Aiyuk's activity on Instagram Live suggested talks may finally be going in the right direction.

Aiyuk started an IG Live stream that featured him driving into the 49ers' performance facility next to Levi's Stadium.

As he arrives at the facility, Aiyuk yells: "Open up the m***********g gate."

Aiyuk had been away from the facility for both OTAs and mandatory minicamp as part of his contract holdout.

His return could indicate that the 49ers and Aiyuk have finally made progress in talks and that a deal is imminent, or it could just be a case of the 2020 first-round pick, who lives in the area year round, simply using the facility to stay in shape during the dead period.

Either way, Aiyuk reporting to the facility is an intriguing step as it comes just days after he met with 49ers general manager John Lynch and head coach Kyle Shanahan to discuss his frustrations around negotiations to this point.

The meeting, requested by Aiyuk, reportedly went well and reaffirmed that neither side is interested in a parting of the ways. With training camp under a month away, it appears there may be at least some momentum towards a deal.
