The San Francisco 49ers had a rough outing in Week 10, falling to the Los Angeles Rams 42-26.

That put San Francisco at a 6-4 record, dropping them to third place in the NFC West, and outside of the playoff picture as a whole. However, the schedule lines up nicely for the 49ers throughout their final seven games, keeping them at good odds to make the postseason in some form.

49ers still control much of their postseason destiny

Here is a look at San Francisco’s remaining seven games of the regular season:

  • Week 11: @ Arizona Cardinals
  • Week 12: vs. Carolina Panthers
  • Week 13: @ Cleveland Browns
  • Week 14: BYE
  • Week 15: vs. Tennessee Titans
  • Week 16: @ Indianapolis Colts
  • Week 17: vs. Chicago Bears
  • Week 18: vs. Seattle Seahawks

Four of those seven opponents do not have a winning record. It is also advantageous that three of the San Francisco’s final four games will be played at home. The last two games against the Bears and Seahawks will be especially critical.

The 49ers trail Chicago by just half a game for the No. 7 and final playoff seed. If the two remain close in record, beating the Bears and owning that tiebreaker will be a must. The same can be said for the season finale against Seattle, who S.F. already has a win over dating back to Week 1.

The 49ers have split their season series with the Rams, meaning a tiebreaker would come down to who has the better record within the NFC West, then (if necessary) record against common opponents, followed by conference record.

S.F. is currently 3-1 inside the division, and the Rams sit at 1-1. Ultimately, if the 49ers take care of business against their NFC West foes and struggling teams such as the Panthers, Browns, and Titans, they should be in fine shape. It starts this week in a road matchup against the Cardinals, who have yet to win a divisional game in 2025.
