NASHVILLE – The biggest questions remaining for the Tennessee Titans in 2024 surround where the team will be picking in the 2025 NFL Draft and what the organization will due with the head coach and GM.

On paper, we are still in the beginning stages of the Brian Callahan (and Ran Carthon) Era. You'd think he'd be given some time to build a culture and winning roster. But with the Titans at a shockingly bad 3-12 and having a shot at the top spot in the upcoming draft, everything is on the table.

It's fair to say that both Callahan and Carthon are on the "hot seat." If they are retained for the 2025 season, I'd imagine the leash is going to be very short. But will they stay or will they go?

NFL.com insiders Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport dropped a major news dump on Saturday morning. The article examined all of the coaches on the "hot seat" around the league and predicted the fate of each of them based on inside information from NFL sources.

When it comes to Brian Callahan, Pelissero and Rapoport believe his job is safe. The Titans are expected to bring Callahan back for the 2025 season.

"First-year head coach Brian Callahan and the bulk of his staff are expected to return," writes Rapoport and Pelissero. "Internally, there is a feeling Callahan has shown long-term promise and the team has improved; the expectation next season is that that'll be reflected more on the field and the scoreboard. Fixing the QB position — former second-round pick Will Levis was benched in December — is Job No. 1."

"The Titans have other issues, too, including fixing a special teams unit that was a major liability early in the season. Some staff changes are possible."

Regardless of who is coaching the team, finding a quarterback needs to be the priority this offseason. But I would find it very interesting (and very risky) for Amy Adams Strunk to let Carthon and Callahan be the ones picking the QB.

In my eyes, if Carthon and Callahan are given the opportunity to take a new quarterback in the draft or sign one to a longterm contract, you have to reset the clock on the regime entirely. That means being patient through 2026 or 2027 while they build around the QB they chose.

That means the Titans should not make any impulsive firings in the middle of the 2025 season because the team is in last place again. That's definitely on the table, but whoever makes your moves this offseason needs to be given enough time to see them through all the way.

As far as the possible staff changes that were referenced, it would surprise nobody for Tennessee to move on from special teams coordinator Colt Anderson after the season. The results are what the results are and it would be hard to justify keeping him on staff given how disastrous that unit has been this season.

I don't expect any changes to be made at offensive or defensive coordinator as long as Callahan is the head coach.

If the information from Rapoport and Pelissero is to be believed, it sounds like the Titans are making a commitment to Brian Callahan this offseason. But if Tennessee continues to sputter to the finish line with pathetic performances against the Jacksonville Jaguars and Houston Texans, is it possible that Amy Adams Strunk changes her mind? We'll find out soon enough.
