NASHVILLE – The future of New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers is once again in question as we look ahead to the upcoming NFL offseason.

Rodgers has thrown for 3,511 passing yards, 24 touchdowns, and 8 interceptions this season, but with the Jets stumbling to a 4-11 record and head coach Robert Saleh fired, everything remains on the table.

“I think there’s a world where they just say, ‘Hey, thank you, we’re going to go in another direction,'” Rodgers said during a recent appearance on The Pat McAfee Show. "I think there’s also a possibility we’re going to wait and see who the new staff is.”

The Jets are likely headed towards a full rebuild. That's probably not something they'd want Rodgers involved in or something that he'd be pumped about as a 41-year-old trying to make another Super Bowl run.

It opens up the possibility of the Jets cutting Rodgers, which would make him a free agent and give him the freedom to sign with any team of his choosing. It's with this in mind that Rodgers once again teased Tennessee Titans fans for the second time in recent memory.

In another moment from this week's appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, Rodgers went out of his way to praise Tennessee and how much he loves being there. "Shoutout to the great state of Tennessee. Phenomenal state. Great people out there. Great people. No state income tax. A lot of great country music," said Rodgers.

It is well-documented that Rodgers purchased land in the Nashville suburb of Franklin a few years back. So with a smirk on his face as he talks about "no state income tax in Tennessee," of course it put the internet into an uproar about what Aaron Rodgers to the Titans would look like.

I'm not saying it won't happen. But we've seen this movie before. Rodgers said a lot of the same things and was even spotted in Nashville during the 2023 offseason before being traded to the Jets by the Green Bay Packers.

He has teased Titans fans like this before. So until there is something concrete or the Jets move on from Rodgers, I'm not reading too much into it.
