The Tennessee Titans lost on their own football field in Week 17 to the New Orleans Saints. It was the kind of come-from-behind loss that would be deeply depressing if there were any significant stakes. Luckily, it did not, and the sweet release of the offseason looms just one week away.

The Titans did get a win this weekend, though. And it came from the AFC North, where a pair of underdogs overcame the odds to keep GM Mike Borgonzi’s conditional trade deadline move alive.

Titans’ Dre’Mont Jones trade with Ravens came back to life

Before the NFL Trade Deadline in early November, Borgonzi sent the Titans’ best edge rusher to the Ravens for a conditional fifth round pick. That pick was the Jets’ original 5th rounder, but if two conditions were met, it would become the Ravens’ original fourth round pick instead. All that had to happen was Jones recording at least two sacks in Baltimore, and the Ravens making the playoffs.

At the time, the Ravens were ascending as betting favorites to win their division and host a playoff game. But a bevy of injuries, blunders, and controversies have plagued them here at the end, and in Week 16, it seemed their chances of making the postseason were dashed. A late-game collapse to the Patriots gave the Steelers full control of their destiny in the AFC North. If Pittsburgh simply beat the Browns in Week 17, they’d take the title. But they laid an egg in the nasty weather this Sunday, losing 13-6. the Ravens did their part to stay alive in a rousing Saturday night victory over the Packers, on the back of future first-ballot Hall of Famer and Titans legend Derrick Henry.

So now, it all comes down to Ravens-Steelers in Week 18.

If Baltimore wins, they take the division crown and the Titans get a round upgrade on their draft pick. The betting lines on this one opened with the Ravens as 3 point road favorites. Repeat after me, Titans fans: goooo Ravens!
