It's why teams act so desperate to find a quarterback. This offseason will have many teams chasing the Minnesota Vikings quarterbacks Sam Darnold and Daniel Jones. There are at least half a dozen teams that need to upgrade at the quarterback position and they will be top targets.

Vikings quarterbacks could hinge on status of Hall of Famer

There are a lot of different landing spots for the Vikings quarterbacks but trying to project where they will end up is somewhat difficult. The first domino might end up being Matthew Stafford's status with the Rams. ESPN's Benjamin Solak wrote about the potential quarterback renaissance for more players and his future could hinge on the future Hall of Fame quarterback's team in 2025.

It seems like the Rams might entertain cutting bait on Stafford and starting a franchise reload on offense, which screams opportunity for bridge quarterbacks hoping to become more. McVay and Puka Nacua immediately provide the sort of offensive incubator we're looking for, Stafford's big shoes create low expectations and pretty much every quarterback who has played for McVay has looked better there than they have elsewhere.

It's really interesting to break down, as the Rams could become serious players for either Darnold or Jones. In theory, Sean McVay should be a similar level of quarterback whisperer as Kevin O'Connell is because he was the latter's mentor.

Now, moving on from Stafford would be a major shift for the Rams, but they need to find a way to get a succession plan in place for the future, as Stafford is 37 years old.

There is a chance that Darnold could end up in Los Angeles, especially since McVay runs the same offense that Darnold thrived in this past season. Jones could also thrive in the same way.

Where Darnold and Jones end up could be impactful for the entire free agency process.
