The Washington Commanders keep finding ways to win, even if it sometimes doesn't look pretty.
They feel great about what they've seen from rookie QB Jayden Daniels, and this offseason, they need to make sure to upgrade their offense as they try to enter the true contender tier of the NFL.
And that's exactly what the newest A to Z Sports mock draft has them doing by adding a wide receiver from a prestigious university.
Commanders select Ohio State WR Emeka Egbuka in new mock draft

"Getting Jayden Daniels multiple weapons needs to be a priority and Egbuka is as solid as they get. Don't let prospect fatigue hit you with Egbuka; he's got the goods."
– New A to Z Sports mock draft
Jayden Daniels and Terry McLaurin have been having a ton of fun in 2024. McLaurin has already set his career high with 11 touchdowns with three games remaining, which is four more than his previous career high, which was seven during his rookie season in 2019.
Some may wonder why the Commanders would target a wide receiver if McLaurin and Daniels already have such a strong connection. My answer is simple: If they are doing this without a true number two wide receiver, imagine what they could do if defenses didn't give him so much attention. Their current number two is Noah Brown, who has 453 yards and one touchdown this season.
Now, insert a player like Emeka Ebuka, who has spent time as the number two WR basically his entire career at Ohio State as a starter. And has excelled in that role. He is a solid route runner with reliable hands that would make defenses pay if they focus only on McLaurin. If the Commanders went this route, they'd have quite the Ohio State Buckeye WR duo. And no one would be happier than Jayden Daniels to reap the benefits.
