Being an NFL owner has a lot of responsibility but many of them bring more upon themselves than they should.

Some teams around the NFL have owners who are very involved with everything, while other teams have owners who let the front office manage all the decision-making.

Early signs are looking like the Washington Commanders may have an owner who is overly involved already.

Josh Harris became the controlling owner in Washington last November and he is now going through his first NFL Combine this week as the owner. The only thing wrong with this picture is that owners do not often associate with the combine a whole lot. It’s a place for front office members, coaches, and scouts to evaluate talent to bring open the team. Owners aren’t qualified to do the scouting, they’re the owners for a reason.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Harris has sat in on each of the quarterback interviews that the Commanders have had. Washington owns the No. 2 pick in the draft and the consensus belief is that they’ll select a quarterback.

As Schefter pointed out, it’s out of the ordinary for owners to even attend the combine at all.

We are early into the Harris era, but this is definitely a red flag. Commanders fans have been put through the wringer the last few years with decisions and issues at the top and now the new owner is looking like he could be crossing the line already.
