During the Kansas City Chiefs Monday Night Football game against the Las Vegas Raiders, there was something we noticed that looked a bit awkward.

This wasn't something that I saw happen live, but as the cameras rolled out to a commercial break, it was on the TV as a replay.

We know about how Mahomes can get fired up, and we know the Raiders have guys like that too, but this moment was a bit awkward between the two. And, Mahomes has shown that a lot more this year. In this game, there was a video of him being held back by Reid, but still yelling "I'm here," to the Raiders sideline. There was another situation too.

Mahomes and star Raiders' pass rusher Maxx Crosby appeared to be in each other's faces head butting helmets and yelling in each other's faces. Mahomes was asked about that after the game, and this is what he said.

"A little combination of both," Mahomes said when asked if the head butt with Crosby was frustration or fire. "Fire up the team, fire up myself. I feel like I didn't play great in the first half, and sometimes you have to kind of create your own energy. I kind of did that. I think Crosby is a hell of a player, so I have a lot of respect for him but sometimes you kind of use those things to motivate yourself."

We have talked about this relentlessly this offseason and even in the season. Mahomes has shown a different type of fire, and Chiefs fans love it, as they should.

There is just something about your Super Bowl MVP doing all the dirty work and playing mind games with the other team, trying to do anything he can to win.

You want to see the guy get fired up like this, especially when it is against the team's biggest rival, maybe ever. I'm sure we will see more of this side of Mahomes, especially if they make it to the playoffs. He is playing with a chip on his shoulder this year, and it doesn't look good for the rest of the NFL.
