Tennessee Vols redshirt senior quarterback Hendon Hooker took to Twitter this week to send a strong message to recruits who are trying to decide where to commit.

Hooker sent a tweet on Wednesday afternoon praising Tennessee's coaches while telling recruits "you know where to go".

"I’m extremely blessed to be coached by not only great teachers but even better men," tweeted Hooker. "If you want to be motivated and pushed to elevate your game, you know where to go."

Hooker didn't take the same path to playing for Josh Heupel that many recruits will take.

The Greensboro, NC native originally signed with Virginia Tech, where he spent four seasons (including his redshirt freshman season in 2017). Hooker transferred to Tennessee when Jeremy Pruitt was still the head coach (Pruitt was fired a couple of weeks after Hooker announced his intention to transfer to UT).

Hooker didn't choose Heupel. But Heupel has proven to be the best thing for Hooker's career. The former Hokie had the best season of his college career in 2021, passing for nearly 3,000 yards while throwing 31 touchdowns against only three interceptions.

The Vols currently have the No. 11 ranked 2023 recruiting class in the nation. Hooker will be gone when those players are in Knoxville, but his tweet shows that he's extremely invested in the future of Tennessee football.
