If anyone knows what it takes to become an elite NFL tight end while playing for the Tennessee Titans, it's definitely Delanie Walker.

In seven seasons with the Titans, Walker rose to prominence as one of the leagues most dangerous tight ends. From 2015-2017, Walker was selected for three consecutive pro bowls, and his prime included a record-breaking 2015 season.

Walker currently holds the Titans' franchise record for single-season receptions (94) and receiving yards (1,088) by a tight end, as well as the record for career touchdown receptions by a tight end (28).

It's safe to say this franchise legend knows what it takes to succeed at the NFL level and knows talent when he sees it. So it has to excite Titans fans that Walker recently identified Tennessee's rookie tight end Chig Okonkwo as one of the game's brightest future stars.

During an appearance on the "Bussin' With The Boys" podcast last week, Walker pointed to Okonkwo as his favorite "up-and-comer" in the game today. He would go as far as to say Okonkwo would soon join the top tier of NFL tight end talent.

"I think Chig is up-and-coming," Walker said when prompted to pick his favorite rising star at the tight end position. "I feel like he's just got to understand it's the same as college. You're that player. They got you here. Do what you were doing in college. Obviously the game is a little faster, but you have that ability to be that person. He gives us sprinkles of it, it's just got to be more consistent and I think that'll come over years of him being in the offense and feeling comfortable."

Walker went on to emphasize that in a run-heavy offense centered around running back Derrick Henry, Okonkwo has a huge opportunity to work off the run and carve out a role as a playmaker. Ultimately, Walker pictures Chig in the "top tier" of tight ends.

"Once he gets his feet under him and really understands his role with the Titans, he's going to be big," Walker said. "He isn't going to catch up to Travis [Kelce] and them right away, but it will come."

Apparently Walker isn't the only one who feels this way. Titans left tackle and Bussin' With The Boys Co-Host Taylor Lewan jumped on the hype train with his own assessment of Okonkwo from Titans training camp.

"In camp, he was legit doing that to guys too," Lewan added. "I was like 'Oh, this kid is going to be somebody.'"

Okonkwo has already claimed the Titans franchise record for receiving yards by a rookie tight end. He currently sits with 374 receiving yards, with 322 of those yards coming in the last seven games.

As time goes, Okonkwo's role within the Titans' offense will continue to expand. Don't be surprised if this time next year "Chig" is becoming a household name among every football fan.
