The Chicago Bears will be without two major offensive players for the remainder of the game against the Washington Commanders.

Running back Roschon Johnson and center Lucas Patrick both left the game and had to be evaluated in the locker room during the first-half of Thursday's game. Both have since been officially ruled out.

It's two major losses for the unit, which is currently commanding the Commanders defense on Thursday Night Football.

Johnson was averaging 6.3 yards per attempt against the Commanders before leaving the game. Running back Khalil Herbert had a big first-half for the Bears, rushing for 76 yards on 6 carries. Herbert will have to continue carrying the load for the rest of the night.

Offensive lineman Cody Whitehair replaced Patrick at center once he exited the game. Left guard Teven Jenkins, whom the team just officially activated to the roster earlier today, stepped in at his usual position after Whitehair changed positions and likely will remain there for the second-half.

Whitehair hasn't had live regular season action at center since the 2020 season. Whitehair played 403 snaps at left guard and 490 at center during that season, according to Pro Football Focus. The Bears are fortunate to have the necessary experience that can easily slide over a position.

Despite the two losses, the Bears offense currently leads the Commanders 27-11 early in the third quarter. Chicago is looking to avoid a second straight second-half comeback as the Commanders start showing life.
