The Georgia wide receiver room cost the Bulldogs team a ton of huge plays last year with all of their drops and miscues, but this year has real potential to look quite different. Kirby Smart and company brought in two high profile Transfer Portal talents in Zachariah Branch (from USC) and Noah Thomas (from Texas A&M). Then they added a trio of high pedigree talented freshman to the mix.

Dillon Bell, Georgia's most productive returning wide receiver, believes this group something extremely special now. So much so that he boldly proclaimed the wide receiver room the best in the country. Could that actually be true?

"I would say it's a lot of great guys on the team. I feel like we are the best wide receiver room in the country. You look at the depth chart. You look at all the guys we have. I feel like anybody can roll in and–we're great. I'll say that."

Those words from Dillon Bell might be too bold. And while Georgia's wide receiver group might not have the absolute best talent at the top of their depth chart they certainly have one of the most versatile sets of talents in the country.

Beginning with Bell himself, he's a fiend with the ball in his hands as he's averaged nearly eight yards per carry and adds YAC well in the receiving game when called upon. There's a chance we see him at running back again this year some again too.

Bell is just a do-it-all weapon who can attack from almost any position. He may not blow up the stats columns, but his presence alone keeps attention coming his way.

Noah Thomas is a 6'6" monster of a man coming into Georgia via the Transfer Portal, but he runs much smoother than his size suggests. He and Colbie Young can both bring some dominant size elements with them, offering a wide catch radius to target for Gunner Stockton (or Ryan Puglisi) at quarterback.

Big wide receivers aren't always the most natural at running routes or creating separation, but Noah Thomas is an exception (as you can see in the post above).

Zachariah Branch might be the real X-factor for Georgia this year at wide receiver. He's similar to Dillon Bell in that he can make all the gadget plays on underneath routes and even carries or kick returns, but he also has explosive speed to burst down field.

Branch is the best candidate to breakout as a truly elite WR1 for Georgia this year given his absurd athleticism and explosiveness. He just looks completely different than anyone else on the field when he moves. According to Kirby Smart, Branch is already earning a leadership role as he figures everything out this spring. If that continues the Georgia wide receiver group could definitely be considered one of the best in the country.

Beyond the transfer talents, Colbie Young, and Dillon Bell, the team also brought in some incredible freshman who are flashing already. Talyn Taylor, CJ Wiley, and Tyler Williams are all likely good enough to challenge for early snaps at Georgia. Talyn Taylor specifically has been dominant wherever he's played. Against top high school competition. Against elite 7v7 competition on the OT7 circuit. Now spring practice for Georgia. Everywhere. Taylor has impressed, no matter what.

If this wide receiver room meets it's potential, Dillon Bell might just not be too far off after all calling Georgia the best wide receiver room in the country.
