Notre Dame football is riding a wave of recruiting momentum during their national championship run. The Fighting Irish are appealing to a long list of players in the 2026 recruiting class, including Potomac (Md.) The Bullis School wide receiver Connor Salmin. Even before this run, the Fighting Irish was trending in a great direction with the East Coast speedster.

Salmin has made multiple trips to Notre Dame in the past, and will be heading back on January 25th for junior day. Right now they are viewed as a potential front runner along with Clemson and Penn State. The Maryland star comes from a high academic family, and values the full scope that the Irish program can offer.

The 6-1, 190-pound pass catcher is viewed as a consensus four-star by every major recruiting platform. 247Sports ranks him as the No. 145 overall player and No. 20 wide receiver in the 2026 recruiting class. Outside of his current top three schools, Salmin also holds offers from Georgia, Ohio State, Florida State, LSU, Tennessee, and Texas A&M among many others.

Salmin played previously at Woodgrove High School in Purcellville, Virginia. On top of being an outstanding football player, Salmin is also a dynamite track and field athlete. He has posted a personal best time of 10.44 seconds in the 100-yard dash. Calling him one of the very fastest players in the country would not be an overstatement.

With quarterback Noah Grubbs already committing in the class, adding some talented pass catchers should be a top priority. The Irish already have wide receiver Dylan Faison committed, and adding the speed of Salmin would be a tremendous addition.
