Under offensive coordinator Graham Harrell, the Purdue offense is hoping to take a big step in 2024. Despite losing wide receiver Deion Burks to Oklahoma this past offseason, there is still plenty of talent to work with in house. Notre Dame will have to be prepared for several players touching the football.

Coming off of the embarrassing 16-14 loss to Northern Illinois this past weekend, the Irish defense needs a better game. While they weren’t the reason they lost, it was also an underwhelming performance from Al Golden and his unit. They need to be better prepared on Saturday.

QB Hudson Card

A former top recruit with the Texas Longhorns, Card made the move to Purdue before the 2023 season. In his first year with the Boilermakers, he threw for 2,387 and 15 touchdowns, while also adding five more scores on the ground. Card is off to a fast start in 2024, annihilating Indiana State to a rune of a 96 percent completion percentage. He is a heavy RPO passer who doesn’t push the ball down the field much, but can keep a team honest with his athleticism and quick release.

RB Devin Mockobee

Mockobee feels like he’s been a part of the Purdue program forever. A solidly built running back at 6-0 and 207 pounds, Mockobee is a bit of an unorthodox runner. He’s very leggy but also does a tremendous job of working through arm tackles. Purdue also can utilize Mockobee in the passing game, possessing good hands and a solid feel in space. There’s nothing dynamic about Mockobee but he just produces. He’s a player you are going to have to neutralize.

WR Jahmal Edrine

A massive pass catcher at 6-3 and 215 pounds, Edrine began his career at Florida Atlantic. Despite looking like a big bodied catch point receiver, Purdue loves to get the ball into Edrine’s hands in the screen game. He is physical after the catch, and will challenge opposing cornerbacks on the perimeter. Edrine also has pretty good buildup speed. When he gets rolling down the field, he does have the ability to win down the field.

TE Max Klare

Klare was the leading receiver for Purdue in their first game against Indiana State, hauling in five receptions for 71 yards and a touchdown. At 6-4 and 240 pounds, Klare is a smooth mover with tremendous body control. The Boilermakers do a good job of attacking the outside but Klare is the big middle of the field threat.

OT Marcus Mbow

Purdue has a solid offensive line, but the best player up front by far is right tackle Marcus Mbow. He will move inside on the next level due to lack of length, but his hand strength stands out a ton. Mbow is also a very good athlete who can work in space easily. His initial strike and foot quickness makes him an imposing offensive line in both the run and passing game.
