Predicting the next five Notre Dame commitments following the Fighting Irish landing dynamic running back Isaiah Rogers
What 2027 recruiting targets does Notre Dame have the best chance with after landing 2027 running back Isaiah Rogers? There are a few to keep a close eye on moving forward.
Notre Dame football has been putting together a ton of recruiting momentum recently, including back-to-back huge visit weekends. From that impact, head coach Marcus Freeman and the Fighting Irish have gained commitments from 2027 running backs Lathan Whisenton and Isaiah Rogers. With that latest commitment from Rogers, there is even more good news expected on the horizon.
Here are my predictions for the next five commitments for Notre Dame, although not in order. There aren’t firm timelines on when the next decision will come, but it wouldn’t be surprising to see something happen somewhat soon. It has a chance to be another special group.
EDGE Aidan O’Neil – Ramsey (N.J.) Don Bosco Prep
The 6-5, 240-pound defensive end has gone from an underrated recruiting target to a top-100 player in the blink of an eye. O’Neil visited South Bend a couple of weeks ago and walked out with Notre Dame being the top team for the New Jersey native. Since Charlie Partridge came in, he has done a great job with O’Neil and his recruitment. I love where Notre Dame is right now. They will just need to close the deal against an impressive offer list.
DT Montana Toilolo – Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei
Toilolo is fresh off a tremendous unofficial visit to Notre Dame this past weekend, and I couldn’t be higher on where the Irish are with him right now. The 6-3, 260-pound defensive lineman is a player that Freeman and Co. have liked for quite some time. There isn’t a defined timeline for when Toilolo wants to make a decision, but if it happens anytime soon, I like the Irish. The program did extremely well with the California native this past weekend.
OT Cameron Wagner – St. Joseph (Ill.) Ogden
Wagner joining the Notre Dame 2027 class feels like a matter of when, not if. The 6-6, 300-pound offensive tackle has been on Joe Rudolph’s radar for quite some time, and the high interest has been consistently reciprocated. He is a big and physical offensive lineman that Rudolph has always valued. The Illinois native is the easiest bet to end up in the 2027 group.
WR Cade Cooper – Malvern (Pa.) Prep
At 6-3 and 192 pounds, Cooper is an impressive blend of size, length, and explosiveness. While he is still a bit raw as a wide receiver, he has all the upside to develop into a tremendous boundary option down the road. Notre Dame has put itself in a very strong standing. At this point, this feels like their recruitment to lose.
DT David Folorunsho – Chicago (Ill.) St. Patrick
Folorunsho has been one of the biggest risers in the 2027 recruiting class so far. Now considered a five-star defensive tackle by some, he has quickly become a “can’t miss target” for the Irish, especially with his ties to the Notre Dame program. At 6-4 and 285 pounds, Folorunsho is a tremendous athlete with a ton of upside. The Irish have been in a great spot for a bit.
