On the latest episode of The Joel Klatt Show, Fox Sports analyst Joel Klatt delivered high praise for the Oregon Ducks, emphasizing how the team’s versatility and physicality make them one of the most complete programs in college football this season.

A well balanced team

Klatt noted that what impresses him most about Oregon isn’t just their talent, but their ability to win in multiple ways — a trait he says separates true playoff contenders from the rest.

“Very good. I’m starting to really believe in this Oregon team,” Klatt said. “I know some people are waiting and seeing — they didn’t love the Indiana loss, and I understand that. But if you really look at this team, they do the things necessary to go out there and win and win in the playoffs.”

Klatt broke down the Ducks’ strengths, pointing first to their dominance at the line of scrimmage.

“Namely, they’re really great at the line of scrimmage,” Klatt explained. “Oregon is number two in the country in yards per carry at 6.4, only behind Navy. And they’re also top 20 in yards per carry allowed. You see, I think that’s going to travel.”

The veteran analyst compared Oregon to Georgia—a team known for its physical play, adaptability, and postseason success—arguing that both programs have developed the balance needed to thrive in any type of game.

“To me, Oregon and Georgia are similar in that they have shown that they can win in several different ways,” Klatt said. “They’ve won blowing people out. They’ve won in tight ball games. They’ve also lost a game, you know. But they’ve got this ability to call on other areas of their team and win games in different fashions. And I think that’s going to pay huge dividends. I’m starting to really like Oregon.”

Klatt went on to rank Oregon at No. 5 in his latest playoff rankings, highlighting their resilience and versatility as key reasons they remind him of the defending national champions.

“These are teams that do a lot of great things,” he continued. “They’re physically built to win tough football games. They can win nasty football games. They can win in shootouts. They can win on the road. They remind me a lot of each other, and I don’t want to play them in the playoff.”

With Dante Moore showing the ability to win games through the air, a strong running game that can control tempo, and a defense capable of carrying the load when the offense struggles, Oregon has become the kind of well-rounded team Klatt believes can make serious noise come playoff time.
