The Oregon Ducks picked up what can be viewed as a big win before even setting on the field on Saturday night, with Ohio State losing "The Game" against rival University of Michigan in Columbus.

It was a shocking outcome, but nothing can be ruled out in rivalry games. Ohio State head coach Ryan Day continues his struggles against the Wolverines, now holding a 1-4 record against them.

For Oregon, this has massive ramifications on the Big Ten Championship game. The Ducks have already punched their ticket, but a pair of afternoon games will determine who they face.

Penn State earns their bid with a victory over Maryland, and Indiana can accomplish the same with a win over Purdue.

For those that dreamed of an Oregon vs Ohio State rematch in the Big Ten Championship game, those dreams are gone. Ohio State, now a two-loss team that won't play in the Big Ten Championship, will be settling as an at-large bid into the College Football Playoffs.

As the season has gone on, a couple key weaknesses have reared their heads, proving that the Buckeyes are mortal. Primarily, the offensive line, dealing with multiple key injuries, has shown itself to be a major weakness capable of disrupting the entire flow of the offense.

Against Michigan, Ohio State only put up 10 points, with quarterback Will Howard completing only 19 of 33 pass attempts for 175 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions. He was under constant pressure from the defensive front.

The run game also couldn't get going. Despite having an elite duo of running backs in TreVeyon Henderon and Quinshon Judkins, the Buckeyes totaled only 77 rushing yards, 3.0 yards per carry, and no touchdowns. Their long run of the day was only 17 yards.

Oregon will await their opponent, which now is guaranteed to not be Ohio State – an outcome that few anticipated entering the weekend.
