The Penn State Nittany Lions might be going into Saturday’s game with a 2-0 record after shutting out Florida International, but they aren’t where they want to be.

The biggest concerns on the team revolve around quarterback Drew Allar. He has yet to show the step forward that we all expected, especially since he’s projected to be a top NFL Draft pick in April. His raw numbers are decent enough, completing 69.5% of his passes for 417 yards and three touchdowns, but there have been real struggles with his pocket presence and management, including his decision making.

Is Allar going to take the necessary step forward to not only vault him up the NFL Draft boards, but also help Penn State win its first National Championship this century? This will be the final “warmup” game before they face the Oregon Ducks to start the Big Ten schedule, and they will need to get things figured out quickly.
