This rivalry between the Cincinnati Bengals and Kansas City Chiefs is too funny. The trash talk is crazy, especially from star players you wouldn't expect it from. Usually, it's the stars that are staying "professional," but not in this situation.

Earlier this week, the Bengals' star wide receiver Ja'Mrr Chase, who, let's give him credit, is one of the best in the league at his position, was talking trash when the week first started. He was asked about the Chief's secondary and downplayed everything they had done.

"If I'm being honest, nothing," Chase told reporters in the locker room. "They just know how to play us; they know the leverages; they know what splits we are in. They just know what we're going to do in certain moments. They throw a few double-doubles at us to stop the two best players on our side, and that's all they do. I mean, it's not really like they got a Jalen Ramsey on the squad."

The Chiefs locked down Chase, even after he talked as much as he did. He was held to just four catches for 41 as L'Jarius Sneed locked him down. After the game, of course, Sneed said that all anyone had to do was "check the stats." So, let's do that a bit.

According to Next Gen Stats, Sneed aligned across from Chase on 21 of his 34 routes (61.8%). He allowed two receptions for 27 yards on three targets. It's also important to note that Sneed didn't practice at all this week and still went out and locked up Chase.

Even after that, Chase went to his post-game locker room scrum with the media and pretty much doubled down on his statement.

"I don't know what he was doing," Chase said when asked about L'Jarius Sneed. "I just get under people's skin sometimes, I guess. M'fer won't fight me, so it's alright. It's just trash-talking. [He] can't handle it. No, I started it off. Their whole defense was mad at me. You saw it. That's just what I like to do. Yeah, they heard it [trash talk]; you don't think they heard that? They have a good front, that's it."

The two of them got in a scuffle during the fight, so that was the initial question asked. But Chase started that fight with two immediate shoves. The fact that the Chiefs' defense played as well as they did with Chase, who, once again, is one of the best in the league, says a lot.

The fact that Chase doubled down after the game that the Chiefs didn't have a great secondary says a lot, too. I like Chase as a player. He is very, very good, and the things he and Patrick Mahomes could do together on the football field would blow people's minds. However, this is embarrassing.
