The Kansas City Chiefs had won fifteen consecutive games against the Denver Broncos heading into Week 6's game on "Thursday Night Football."
That was good for the fourth-longest streak of consecutive wins against a single team in NFL history. With a resounding 19-8 win at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium, they've extended what is the longest active win streak against a single opponent in the NFL.
The Miami Dolphins are in first place in NFL history with 20 straight wins over the Buffalo Bills from 1970-1979. The San Francisco 49ers are in second place with 17 consecutive victories over the Los Angeles Rams from 1990-1998. Guess who is sitting tied in third place now?
The win over the Broncos in Week 6 means that the Chiefs are now tied with Washington for third place, who had 16 consecutive wins over the Detroit Lions from 1968-1997. They'll soon have a chance to tie the 49ers for second place in NFL history with another win over the Broncos when the team travels to Denver in Week 8, just a few weeks from now.
To add some context: The Broncos' last win over Kansas City came on September 17, 2015. Denver's quarterback was Peyton Manning, Barack Obama was in the White House, Taylor Swift was in the midst of her '1989' World Tour and Patrick Mahomes was a Sophomore at Texas Tech.
