Just hours before the AFC Championship Game kicked off, Kansas City Chiefs WR Kadarius Toney took to Instagram Live to go on a profanity-filled rant, during which he accused the team of faking his injury status.

Toney hasn't played since Week 15's game against the New England Patriots due to hip and ankle injuries. He's been a limited participant in practice several times since, but he has not been cleared to play in a game. He was ruled out for the AFC title game due to his hip injury and for the birth of his first daughter.

Chiefs HC Andy Reid was asked about Toney's status with the team and the Instagram Live video during his media availability on Monday.

"Yeah, I actually haven't seen it, but I heard people talk about it," Reid said. "But yeah, he'll be back out there and we'll see how he does."

Asked specifically about Toney's accusation, Reid assured reporters that Toney has been absent for the past six games due to injury. He also reiterated that he would be back on the practice field.

"Obviously, he's been on the injury report," Reid said. "That part is not made up by any means. He's been working through some things. He'll be back out there."

Remember, the NFL injury report system works as follows: If players receive any sort of treatment for an injury, they're required to be listed on the injury report. When Toney made his comments, he might not recognize that fact.

We'll see if Toney manages to show enough in practice for the next two weeks to get the team confident enough in his injury status to make him active for Super Bowl LVIII. The two big plays that he made against the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LVII made all of the difference in that game.

Toney has given the team plenty of ammunition to move on if they wanted to, but his coaches and teammates continue to uplift him despite his inconsistent play on the field and the recent outburst.
