The Kansas City Chiefs received great news on Tuesday regarding one of their best defensive players. Well, good and bad news when you think about it all.

Against the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Championship Game, star defensive lineman Charles Omenihu got hurt. He tore his ACL and missed the Super Bowl. However, that doesn't take away from the fact that he is still a Super Bowl Champion.

On Tuesday, he had surgery, and according to Aaron Wilson of KPRC2, it was successful. So, that's the good news.

As for the bad news, and we have known this for a while, he will miss some of the 2024 season more than likely. The average NFL player recovers from an ACL injury within 9-12 months. If he were to recover in nine months, that would have him returning in mid-November.

Omenihu has already promised he will have a strong comeback, and the Chiefs will need him to do that. They fared well without him in the Super Bowl and the six games he was suspended, but that doesn't mean they couldn't use him.

I expect him to attack his recovery as we know he will.
