On Monday, opening night for the Super Bowl between the Chiefs and the Eagles, Patrick Mahomes told us all what we needed to hear.

This postseason hasn't been the easiest by any means. The first game was difficult just based on the fact that Mahomes' ankle injury looked very bad. The Chiefs had to play with Chad Henne for a bit, and a beat-up Patrick Mahomes against a pretty good Jacksonville Jaguars team.

They still scraped the win out.

Then, against their biggest rival, they played with a hurt Mahomes, didn't have their best cornerback for most of the game in L'Jarius Sneed, didn't have their best linebacker for most of the game in Willie Gay Jr, and didn't have their three best receivers for most of the game.

Oh, and the Chiefs weren't even supposed to make the playoffs because they didn't have Tyreek Hill, remember that?

They still won that game though.

This postseason has been nothing but a mixture of feelings, and finally, Patrick Mahomes gives some good news.

"It's definitely better, for sure," Mahomes said to the media when asked about his ankle injury. "You never know until you get into the game. It's definitely better than it was this time last week before the game."

This is what we all needed to hear, for sure. Let's hope that this week he can get even more rest and heal that ankle because he is going to need both this time. The Eagles are no joke.
