The Kansas City Chiefs need a plan for their free agency playbook, and they likely need one fast, especially after the latest NFL news.
It's no secret the Chiefs need a wide receiver, even after winning yet another Super Bowl. It was by far their worst position group, as rookie wide receiver Rashee Rice led the group in the regular and post-season.
According to Dianna Russini of The Athletic, the Tennessee Titans, Los Angeles Rams, Kansas City Chiefs, New England Patriots, New York Giants, Carolina Panthers, Atlanta Falcons, and Jacksonville Jaguars had Mike Evans on their free agent wide receiver board and were hoping to land him in free agency.
On Monday morning, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers resigned Mike Evans for two more years, which means the Chiefs and everyone else are no longer in the Mike Evans sweepstakes.
Now, it's time to look for a new plan regarding the wide receiver market. There are still several guys remaining that they could go after, like Calvin Ridley, who may be the best remaining. Only time will tell what they will do, as next Monday is the legal tampering period.
