The Kansas City Chiefs got some positive news on Monday regarding DE BJ Thompson, who suffered a medical emergency during a special teams meeting at team facilities on Thursday.

As of June 6, Thompson was still unconscious, but his status has now changed. According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero via Thompson's agent, Chris Turnage, the 25-year-old defender is doing much better now.

More good news: Four days after suffering a seizure and going into cardiac arrest during a meeting, #Chiefs DL BJ Thompson was released from the hospital tonight, per his agent Chris Turnage. A significant step for Thompson, who continues to progress on the road to recovery.

This comes just days after Thompson suffered a seizure, which sent him into cardiac arrest.

The Chiefs' medical and training staff were able to act quickly after Thompson suffered his seizure. They administered life-saving aid to Thompson as they waited for medical personnel and an ambulance to arrive.

You love to hear that he is doing much better, and know that he will continue to power through.
