Update: The team has now officially ruled No. 90 out of the game

The Kansas City Chiefs have suffered an injury they simply can't afford along the defensive line.

Chiefs DE Charles Omenihu suffered a non-contact right knee injury. He was seen testing his knee on the sideline before heading to the locker room with the training staff. The team quickly ruled him questionable to return to the game.

The non-contact nature of the injury is never a good sign, but more testing will reveal the prognosis for the edge rusher.

Omenihu has already made a huge impact in this game, forcing a fumble that his teammate George Karlaftis recovered. Omenihu was a monster during the regular season, too. He finished the 2023 NFL season as one of the hottest pass-rushers in the league with at least a half-sack in six consecutive games.

The Chiefs will lean on players like Mike Danna and Malik Herring in Omenihu's absence. First-round draft pick Felix Anudike-Uzomah is among the players listed as inactive by Kansas City for the AFC Championship Game.
