Kansas City Chiefs DT Isaiah Buggs is denying recent allegations of animal cruelty in Tuscaloosa, Alabama via his agent while levying some serious allegations of his own.
A report from a local Tuscaloosa news outlet revealed that Buggs was recently accused of two instances of animal cruelty. That report indicated a pair of dogs were found sickly, malnourished, and unattended at an abandoned property last leased by the Chiefs' defensive tackle in Alabama.
NFL Network's Tom Pelissero shared a statement from Buggs' agent, Trey Robinson, on Wednesday afternoon. In that statement, Robinson insists that Buggs does not "condone the mistreatment of animals" and was "unaware they remained at the property in question."
Robinson further insists that the City of Tuscaloosa and the Tuscaloosa Police Department are not acting in good faith. He says they're attempting to "besmirch" Buggs' name to force him to close his local business, "Kings Hookah Lounge." The evidence he provided to prove such harassment? Robinson says that Buggs has already been arrested on two separate occasions at his business in Tuscaloosa on misdemeanor charges, but that no public record was made of the arrests.

These are some pretty significant allegations and it appears it'll be left up to the court system to decide, both in regards to the animal cruelty accusations and Tuscaloosa police targeting Buggs because he refuses to surrender his business license.
Meanwhile, the Chiefs continue to be at the center of controversy this offseason with multiple off-field incidents occurring in just months. This latest development with Buggs follows offseason incidents such as Rashee Rice's facing felony charges for a multi-vehicle accident in Dallas, Texas, and two Chiefs offensive linemen being arrested for Marijuana possession in Johnson County.
