The Kansas City Chiefs were back at practice on Wednesday ahead of their divisional-round matchup with the Buffalo Bills in the 2023-2024 NFL playoffs.
Chiefs HC Andy Reid provided his typical pre-practice injury update, confirming that two players would be absent from practice to start the week. One of those players (LB Cam Jones) wound up on injured reserve, while another simply missed practice.
"As far as injuries go, Cam Jones will not practice today, (Derrick) Nnadi won’t practice today," Reid told reporters. "Everybody else will be out there. Skyy (Moore) will return to practice, (Kadarius) Toney will be out there, and (Justyn) Ross will be out there."
What else did we learn about the injury situation heading into another week of elimination games?
Chiefs taking WR injuries one day at a time
The Chiefs designated WR Skyy Moore to return from injured reserve, but they've also dealt with some other recent WR injuries. Both Kadarius Toney (Hip/Ankle) and Justyn Ross (Hamstring) missed the team's wild-card game with their respective injuries.
Reid spoke about their potential returns for the divisional round.
"We’ll see, we’ll just see – with (Justyn) Ross (too), I’m just taking it day by day, see what they can do, and we’ll go from there," Reid said. "I’m hoping that they’re feeling better, that’s the main thing.”
I'm told that Ross is more likely to return than Toney at this juncture.
