The Kansas City Chiefs released a second injury report on Tuesday ahead of their Week 1 tilt against the Detroit Lions.
The initial injury report to start the practice week had seven players on it, three of whom were full participants in practice. That number has improved with the latest practice session for Kansas City, but they did have a notable new addition to the injury report on Tuesday.
Check it out down below:
| Player | Injury | Monday | Tuesday |
|---|---|---|---|
WR Kadarius Toney | Knee | LP | LP |
CB L’Jarius Sneed | Knee | LP | LP |
WR Richie James | Knee | LP | FP |
DT Tershawn Wharton | Knee | LP | FP |
OL Nick Allegretti | Pec | FP | FP |
CB Nic Jones | Hand | FP | FP |
DE BJ Thompson | Hamstring | FP | FP |
TE Travis Kelce | Knee | – | LP |
KEY: DNP = Did not participate | LP = Limited participation | FP = Full participation | NIR = Not injury related
Injury report observations:
- James and Wharton being upgraded to full participation after limited practices on Monday is a good sign of their availability.
- Kelce's addition to the injury report is a big concern for Week 1. A knee hyperextension could cause him to miss some time depending on the severity and accompanying ligament damage.
- Game status reports are coming tomorrow, but expect Toney and Sneed to be listed as questionable for Week 1.
