The Kansas City Chiefs are not satisfied with a particular position group, at least that's what their actions are showing us this week.

We learned ahead of Tuesday's mandatory minicamp practices that former BYU DT Jackson Cravens was in the building on a tryout basis, but he's not the only one. Chiefs Digest's Matt Derrick revealed that the team is looking at two other interior defensive linemen and an edge rusher that they have in the building for tryouts this week.

Getting to know the Chiefs' mandatory minicamp tryouts:

DT Rashard Lawrence

A former fourth-round pick by the Arizona Cardinals in the 2020 NFL draft out of LSU, Lawrence is trying to find a landing spot after an injury disrupted his career with the Cardinals. He has appeared in 25 career NFL games, including 13 starts. During that span, he racked up 30 total tackles, four tackles for loss, and a forced fumble.

DT Alex Gubner

An undrafted free agent from the University of Montana, Gubner was among the rookie minicamp tryouts the Chiefs had in the building in early May. He led a standout career for the Grizzlies, recording 124 total tackles, 28.5 tackles for loss, 10.5 sacks, eight pass deflections, a forced fumble and a blocked kick. It's always a good sign as a tryout when you're invited back for a team to get a second look.

DE Brevin Allen

A former undrafted free agent out of Campbell following the 2023 NFL draft, Allen landed on the Los Angeles Chargers practice squad last season. He played in a few games after he was elevated to the 53-man roster, but recorded no stats for the AFC West foe. The Chargers waived him from their roster in mid-May. This tryout might be more about filling a need with BJ Thompson out from practice.
