The Kansas City Chiefs exited their season last year a lot earlier than most thought they would. But, let's rewind even a bit further back than that.
In Week 13, the Kansas City Chiefs matched up with the Bengals for the first time in the Patrick Mahomes era. They lost, and that happens, especially in the regular season, so no one made much of the game.
Fast forward back to the AFC Championship game, we looked at a team in the Bengals who really weren't supposed to be that far in the playoffs, and thought it would be easy. The Chiefs lose in the regular season all the time and then go on to beat those teams in the playoffs. Just ask the Buffalo Bills.
But, this time they lost. They exited their season early, as everyone thought they were the favorites to win that game.
After the game, Chris Jones, the Chiefs' best defensive player who missed two sacks in the fourth quarter, tweeted out something that stuck with a lot of people.
He said they would be in the Super Bowl next season. I think at the time everyone was agreeing with him, but most forgot he even tweeted that by the time this season rolled around.
Now, here we are, with the Chiefs back in the Super Bowl, just like Jones said, just like he manifested.
That just shows how much confidence this team has in themselves. If they lose the Super Bowl this year, let's hope Jones tweets after the game that they will win it next year.
