Everyone knew when the game clock ran down to zero and Patrick Mahomes started waving bye to the Buffalo Bills home crowd; we would be getting the petty version of the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback that so rarely comes out.

Just to name a few other instances – when Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase said: "Pat who," and Mahomes tweeted out a pic of him with two Super Bowl rings with a caption that read "That's who." Or, when Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby kept bumping Mahomes in the game, and Mahomes scored and kept telling Crosby he "woke up the wrong motherf***er."

Those are just some of my personal favorites, but there are certainly a few more. Now, you can add this one to the list.

Coming into this game, the narrative surrounding the Kansas City Chiefs was that they had never played a road playoff game before, which is pretty crazy to say, considering they played a Super Bowl against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Tampa Bay.

Even Bills offensive tackle Dion Dawkins called Mahomes out in that way, saying Mahomes didn't even know what Bills fans looked like when he was waving them goodbye. After the game, Mahomes acknowledged he heard all of the talk this week, as he usually does.

"No, I mean, first of all, this is a great environment, man. It really is. But we did hear it all week, man, about playing a road game," Patrick Mahomes said after the game.

"And we were here to prove a point, man, and to show that we can play anywhere, and we know we're going to have a heck of a challenge next week, but our guys are going to get ready to go, and go out there and see what we can do."

Petty Mahomes is one of the best versions of Mahomes we have seen. I'm sure the only way we would have seen a prettier version of Mahomes is if he would have gotten hit by a snowball. Mahomes was fired up after the win, as he should have been, too.

The Chiefs are heading to Baltimore now, where they will play in their sixth-straight AFC Championship game, and a large reason why is because of what Mahomes was able to do against the Bills on Sunday. His numbers won't wow you by any means because he stuck to the game plan, which was primarily to run the ball.

However, he did finish with a 74% completion percentage, 9.3 yards per attempt, two touchdowns, zero turnovers, and a 132 rating. Those are pretty much the only stats that matter in this instance, in which he led his team to a win on the road.

As for him being petty, though, he continued it after the game by posting a picture with a caption that read "good luck," referring to what Dawkins said earlier in the week.
