The Kansas City Chiefs got the short end of the stick in the latest NFL scheduling decision.
This year, the NFL's flex-scheduling policy allows for the "Monday Night Football" games to be flexed. For the first time, it's happening, and it's happening to one of the Chiefs' upcoming prime-time games.
Kansas City was originally slated to play "Monday Night Football" against the New England Patriots in Week 15 on Dec. 18. Now, that game has been moved to noon CT on Sunday, Dec. 17, while the Philadelphia Eagles and Seattle Seahawks will square off in prime-time on "Monday Night Football" instead. You can find the full details of the schedule changes for Week 15 here.
The Patriots are such a bad team right now that the NFL and networks were willing to sacrifice a Patrick Mahomes-led Chiefs prime-time game. That's incredibly impressive, considering Mahomes has been rating fuel for the league since his first season as a starter back in 2018. You've got to be a special type of bad football team to make this happen.
The crazy thing about this change is that it'll likely be a welcomed one in Kansas City. This will be just the second time that the Chiefs will have played in the noon time slot this season. They'll have their third game at noon in Week 16 against the Las Vegas Raiders on Christmas Day.
