The Kansas City Chiefs superstar quarterback just did something extremely petty on ring night.
The Chiefs had their ring ceremony on Thursday night at Union Station. The rings are beautiful and even bigger than the 2019 ring. However, we are here to talk about something else.
Thursday night Patrick Mahomes showed a side of himself we don't see often, and I'm totally on board for more of it. We saw what I like to call "Petty Pat."
Earlier this week, Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow was asked who the best quarterback in the league was, and he said this:
"I don't think there is any argument right now; it's Pat [Mahomes]," Burrow told the media on Tuesday. "Until someone has a better year than he's had, he's the one to knock off."
Then the media asked Ja'Marr Chase who the best was, and without hesitation, he said, Burrow. The media then told him what Burrow said, and Chase said, "Pat, Who?"
On Thursday, Mahomes responded to that, but in a subliminal way. His Instagram caption on the picture he posted of himself with his two rings said: "That's who."
To add another layer of fun, he commented "L" on his post. Today, that's what kids do or say when someone "took an L." The comment has since been deleted, but the post is alive and well.
We don't see this side of Mahomes often, but when we do, I'm sure everyone loves it.
