The Kansas City Chiefs were able to distance themselves from the rest of the AFC West as they won their third game of the season and now sit at 3-1 on the year.

What better way to do so than to beat one of the Chiefs' newest rivals in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the team that demolished the Chiefs in Super Bowl LV.

It was a combination of both the offense and the defense for the Chiefs on Sunday Night Football. They were able to score really whenever they wanted, while still locking down the Buccaneers.

This game was far more important than any other that the Chiefs have had so far this year. Of course, the revenge game plays a large factor but does the fact that Buccaneers players were talking trash before the game even happened.

Then, add in the other factor of the Patrick Mahomes vs. Tom Brady narrative. Now, you have yourself Sunday Night Football.

There are rumors though surrounding this game, but the Chiefs aren't falling for them.

Chiefs' Mahomes and Reid don't believe the rumors

The rumor is that this could potentially be Tom Brady's last season, and if it is that means that could have been the last game we see of Mahomes vs. Brady. Even if this isn't his last season, they likely wouldn't play next year, as these two teams don't play each other every year.

Some people don't believe that though. Andy Reid, the Chiefs' head coach who has had plenty of battles against Brady, doesn't think so either.

“Listen, he’s a great one, man," Reid told the media when asked about this being the last game between the two. "First ballot hall of famer – he has done everything in this business that can be done, and more than once.

"Heck, he’s been basically doing it my whole career as a head coach. I think I’m three years ahead of him. That’s a long time. That’s an old dog right there. That son of a gun – he is so accurate it’s ridiculous.”

Mahomes doesn't seem to believe that either, as this isn't the first time this conversation has been brought up.

“Yeah, I mean it’s short. I see him a lot in the offseason now and I just said good luck on the rest of the year. I feel like, I said this earlier in the week, I think in some interview where I feel like I’ve had the last game against Tom Brady like four times now.

"So until he is not on that field when I step on the field when I step on the field, I’m not going to believe that’s my last game against him.”

These two have given us some great battles, besides the Super Bowl, of course. This game, though, wasn't as close as the score would suggest. To put it lightly, the Chiefs destroyed the Buccaneers from the jump, literally.

This could be the last game between the two. However, knowing Brady, this likely isn't. The man just won't quit. And who's to say these two teams won't play in the Super Bowl again?
