The Kansas City Chiefs are keeping their interior defensive line intact.
According to his agency, SportsTrust Advisors, Chiefs DT Derrick Nnadi has agreed to terms to stay in Kansas City. A former third-round draft pick in 2018, Nnadi is a three-time Super Bowl champion. This marks the third season in a row where he's returned to the Chiefs after becoming a free agent. He's currently the longest-tenured Brett Veach draft pick as the only member of the 2018 draft class remaining in Kansas City.
In six seasons with the Chiefs, Nnadi has started 98 regular season games. During that span, he’s recorded 222 total tackles, seven tackles for loss, five sacks, one forced fumble, two passes defended, and one interception. He's appeared in 15 career postseason games with 34 total tackles, one sack, and three tackles for loss.
Nnadi finished the 2023 NFL season on injured reserve with a triceps injury that required surgical intervention. He's expected to make a full recovery and be ready to go for the start of the 2024 NFL season.
