After much speculation, the Kansas City Chiefs have officially made the decision on whether wide receiver Kadarius Toney will play in Super Bowl LVIII.

And according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the answer is no.

Chiefs coach Andy Reid was asked about the possibility of Toney playing earlier this week, but simply said, ""we'll see," while adding that he has "been practicing, we'll just see whether he's up or not."

Toney has made headlines all season, but most recently it was after he was caught ranting on Instagram prior to the AFC Championship. It seemed that he was saying the Chiefs were lying about his injury status throughout the last few weeks.

However, he later claimed that the clip was digitally altered.

Toney has not played since Week 15 against the New England Patriots. And that wasn't a top game for the receiver after he deflected a pass that was ultimately intercepted by the Patriots.

He has been present at Super Bowl media this past week, once again stirring up controversy with a shady message to the Chiefs.

Toney was asked if he believes he is a No. 1 wide receiver in the NFL.

And while he tried to make light of the situation, his comments were clearly a dig at his team.

“Yeah, if I get it. If I get the ball, yeah," Toney responded.

Toney has been dealing ankle and hip injuries, but was then taken off the injury report. Yet he is still not set to play in the biggest game of the game.

He finishes the season with 27 receptions for 169 receiving yards and one touchdown, along with 11 carries for 31 rushing years.
