The Kansas City Chiefs officially announced their five-year contract extension with star DT Chris Jones on Monday. This comes after a record-setting and buzzer-beating deal to get Jones locked up ahead of the 2024 NFL free agency period.

Jones was in the building to take his physical and officially sign the deal. He also took the opportunity to send a message to the entire Chiefs Kingdom, echoing some of what he had previously said about his career desires. The Chiefs shared that message on their X (formerly Twitter) account.

"Hey guys, it's Chris Jones here. Wrapping up. We've got five more years of greatness. I will be retiring a Chief. This is everything we dreamed about, (and) talked about. Now it's more Super Bowl rings, man. Let's go."

Jones' deal will keep him in Kansas City for a long time and will certainly give the Chiefs the best chance of winning a third consecutive Super Bowl title.
