The Kansas City Chiefs have lost a key depth piece and Super Bowl LVIII hero.

According to the 33rd Team's Ari Meirov, the Washington Commanders will sign Chiefs backup OG Nick Allegretti to a three-year deal worth $16M. Allegretti started at LG in the AFC Championship Game and Super Bowl LVIII this season. We learned after the victory that Allegretti played through practically the entire game against the San Francisco 49ers with a torn UCL in his elbow.

A former seventh-round pick out of the University of Illinois in 2019, Allegretti has appeared in 74 games with 13 starts over the past five seasons in Kansas City. He has experience playing all three of the interior offensive line positions.

He’s a two-time Super Bowl champion in Super Bowl LVII against the Eagles and Super Bowl LVIII against the 49ers. He started in Super Bowl LV against the Bucs, but he'll be remembered for his gutsy performance in the latest win over the Niners.

Allegretti will join his former teammate Andrew Wylie in Washington.

The level of contract signed by Allegretti should put the Chiefs on the board for a compensatory draft pick on Day 3 in 2025.
