ESPN analyst shows major disrespect to Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes

Everyone's opinions obviously differ. And there are cases to be made for several quarterbacks to be listed at the No. 1 spot. But Mahomes is right there on everyone's list….right?
Apparently not.
ESPN analyst and former NFL linebacker Sam Acho recently revealed his top five quarterbacks in the league. And he didn't include Patrick Mahomes.
Here's his list:
- Josh Allen — Buffalo Bills
- Justin Herbert — Los Angeles Chargers
- Matthew Stafford — Los Angeles Rams
- Aaron Rodgers — Green Bay Packers
- Joe Burrow — Cincinnati Bengals
The only quarterback on Acho's list that I'd consider putting above Mahomes would be Rodgers. And even that is debatable at this point (Rodgers hasn't been to a Super Bowl since the Packers beat the Pittsburgh Steelers in Super Bowl XLV in early 2011).
The other quarterbacks on the list are undoubtedly great. They're all deserving of being considered top-five NFL quarterbacks.
But putting them above Mahomes?
I don't get that at all.
None of the other quarterbacks — outside of Rodgers — have been named an NFL MVP or a Super Bowl MVP. Stafford is the only other quarterback on the list to even have a Super Bowl ring.
Mahomes has changed the way the game is played. His sandlot style of football — something that used to be frowned upon in the NFL — has been embraced by some teams in the league thanks to Mahomes' success.
Maybe Acho forgot about Mahomes when he was compiling his list. Or maybe Acho, who played college football at Texas, is anti-Mahomes because he went to Texas Tech.
Either way, it doesn't make any sense. It's incredibly disrespectful to Mahomes and the Chiefs.
Mahomes, however, will have plenty of opportunities to prove Acho wrong in 2022.
