The Denver Broncos may have been in the dark for the last seven years when it comes to winning football games, but no one can deny how great of an organization they are.
This is a franchise that has the rings, the history, the coaches, the location, the amenities are on point, and the facilities are amazing. Oh, and now they have a lot of money from a new ownership group.
When Sean Payton came to the Broncos he also realized that. In fact, he realized that the Broncos just do things better organizationally. They have the things he needs to be successful, and he likes that. One thing the Broncos do well is something he has never seen before.
“The analytics department (with the Broncos) is something that is on a different level here," Payton said on Thursday during the pre-draft pressers. "… I’m like that driver of a new car that hasn’t figured out how to get the seat warmers on… It’s pretty impressive… It’s new for me, in a good way.”
Something like that is important, especially for a new head coach that has never had that kind of amenities. Not only that but saying things like that to the press catches the attention of others. It is somewhat of a recruiting thing because others now know that the Broncos' analytical department is top-notch.
The Broncos haven't been good or the best at something in a long time, so hearing something like this may make the fans feel better too. But most importantly, it's good to know that they are doing their due diligence when it comes to the analytical side of the draft.
