When the news dropped, everyone's first thought was that Chris Jones would suit up for the Kansas City Chiefs this week against the Jacksonville Jaguars. We know he will, but not the question presented is if he will be in football shape.

Even if he isn't, the chances are him not in football shape is still better than what the Chiefs were trotting out there. That's nothing against Derrick Nnadi and Tershawn Wharton. Chris Jones is just different.

The Jaguars know that, too, as they saw it twice last year, and a few times before that too. They know there isn't really anything you can do to stop him. Jones will get his no matter what, even if you double-team him.

"He's a great player and has a big impact on the pass game," Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson said Wednesday. "Obviously, he can push the pocket, can line up at the defensive end, you know, which you would anticipate him doing that, you know, so, yeah, you gotta, you gotta kind of know where he's going to be, you know, on the defensive line and, it's always a challenge. He's a load in there, and you gotta make sure you have not just two, but, you know, four hands on him."

Jones is coming back on a one-year deal with incentives of up to $25 million after he held out all the way up to Week 1 against the Detroit Lions. The defense still did well without him. They allowed just 14 points against one of the best offenses in football.

Now they will have a guy that demands double teams. Jones, if you leave him on an island, he will win the matchup every time. Pederson knows that, so he threw in the fact that you have to get two sets of hands on him.

We don't really know what to expect from Jones because we haven't seen him play since the Super Bowl. But I think it's safe to say he will make the defense better, for sure.
