The Kansas City Chiefs have released their first injury report ahead of their Week 1 tilt against the Detroit Lions.
Andy Reid provided some recent injury updates, indicating good news for both WR Kadarius Toney and CB L'Jarius Sneed. The latest injury report only reinforces that news for the two players.
Check it out down below:
| Player | Injury | Participation |
|---|---|---|
WR Kadarius Toney | Knee | LP |
CB L’Jarius Sneed | Knee | LP |
WR Richie James | Knee | LP |
DT Tershawn Wharton | Knee | LP |
OL Nick Allegretti | Pec | FP |
CB Nic Jones | Hand | FP |
DE BJ Thompson | Hamstring | FP |
KEY: DNP = Did not participate | LP = Limited participation | FP = Full participation | NIR = Not injury related
Injury report observations:
- Toney, Sneed and Wharton being limited doesn't necessarily preclude their status for Week 1. There is always a ramp-up period for players coming off of this type of injury.
- James being limited with a knee injury is a new development. It's unclear if this is something that popped up in practice, but he was not previously reported as injured.
- Good news for Jones and Allegretti with both participating in full after missing the final preseason game.
- Thompson's hamstring is also a new development, but it seems to be minor.
- Great news to see that Leo Chenal is not listed on the injury report. He'll be needed against Detroit's stout rushing attack.
