That’s why it shouldn’t be a surprise that the war of words has already started.
Buccaneers pass rusher Shaq Barrett told reporters this that he doesn’t think Tampa will have any issues with Kansas City’s offensive live.
Barrett said it’s a favorable matchup for the Bucs, before adding “we can really have a coming-out party”.
Shaq Barrett on Chiefs' offensive line: "I really don't think it's too much of a difference. I think we have a lot of favorable matchups. We have an opportunity to really dominate the game … to really impose our will as pass-rushers. We can really have a coming-out party."— Greg Auman (@gregauman) September 28, 2022
Tampa Bay has 11 sacks so far this season, which is tied with the Buffalo Bills for third in the NFL.
Based on that number, I’d say the Bucs have already had their coming-out party.
However, the challenge will be a bit tougher for Tampa this week. The Chiefs have only given up two sacks this season, which is tied with the Jacksonville Jaguars for the fewest allowed in the NFL.
Something will have to give this week.
Barrett is confident that Tampa will get the job done against Kansas City’s stout offensive line.
The Chiefs’ offensive line should be just as confident — considering how they’ve played so far this season. And they’d be wise to let their play do the talking on Sunday.
It should be a fun matchup when these two teams get together on Sunday night on NBC.
