The Kansas City Chiefs (6-1) are set to face the Denver Broncos (2-5) on the road in Week 8 of the 2023 NFL season.

Not only do the Chiefs have a three-game lead in the AFC West division, but they also have sole possession of first place in the AFC conference after the Miami Dolphins' loss in Week 7. This marks the third consecutive AFC West opponent for Kansas City and their third consecutive time as opening favorites.

According to the folks at DraftKings Sportsbook, the Chiefs are 8.5-point favorites over the Broncos in Week 8. The over/under point total is 45 points. The Kansas City moneyline is currently listed at -425, giving the Chiefs an 80.95% implied win probability.

Denver got its first crack at Kansas City this season in Week 6 on "Thursday Night Football." Unfortunately for them, the results were more of the same. Their 19-8 loss was the sixteenth consecutive loss for the Broncos to the Chiefs. If they lose again in Week 8, the streak will extend to 17 games, which would be tied for the second-longest winning streak against a single opponent in NFL history.

This time around, Denver is coming off of a win, so they at least have that going for them. Kansas City has won six consecutive games and another win over an AFC West opponent would put them vastly ahead of the curve with a chance to wrap up the division shortly after their Week 10 bye week.

As for the upcoming game, there might be one advantage for Kansas City. The early forecast calls for some football weather at Empower Field at Mile High Stadium on Sunday. It's expected to be cloudy and cold with snow flurries throughout the day. That's just the type of weather that Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes likes as a self-proclaimed "snow game guy."
